Higher education is paramount to helping underprivileged children and their families out of poverty. Providing a safe haven from gangs, cartels, and predators, who enter outlying (rural) locations and prey on the needy is a beautiful way to save children. The threats of rampant human trafficking cannot be overlooked in the USA and the world overall.
Welder shortages exist here in the USA and in Honduras. Providing valuable welding skills can empower Honduran youth to support themselves and lift their families from poverty. This is a lifechanging opportunity to build them up in a Christ-centered environment, providing a safety-net that fills an existing void, and replaces dangerous alternatives.

NHH Mission Statement
• To provide quick, Christ-like care and financial assistance for folks in the Northland neighborhood when unforeseen events arise.
NHH Scope
• NHH wants to be there to help in cases of: fire, flood, wind, hail, lack of heat, sanitary problems, changes in physical health, need for emotional/spiritual support, and loss of a job.
• The Northland neighborhood includes parishioners as well as non-parishioners whose needs are known to members of the church.
What is NHH?
• We’re an outreach ministry of Northland Lutheran Church that desires to help our neighbors, both those who worship here or elsewhere and those who currently don’t know Jesus.
• We aim to provide a Good Samaritan response to those facing difficult life events by coming alongside them with immediate assistance and words of comfort and hope.
How would/should/could it work?
• Upon notification of a neighbor in need, and depending on who is involved, Jerry, Pastor Bill, and/or Marilyn will initiate a prompt on-site visit.
• Our team would visit with the individual(s) to understand their needs, comfort them, and provide aid if possible. We would also advocate for them in finding outside services as well as pray with and for them (if they are willing).
• We would follow up with those requesting aid to provide encouragement and hope by pointing to Jesus.
Why are we sent to do this?
• Out of gratitude for what Jesus did for us on the cross.
• To reach those who may be without hope with a gift of kindness to share our hope in Jesus.
• To follow Jesus’ instructions that He gave us:
• Love our neighbors as ourselves — Mark 12:31
• Be a Good Samaritan — Luke 10:36
• Fulfill the Great Commission — Matthew 28:18-20
How can you help?
• Pray that we are equipped.
• Be the Good Samaritan in your neighborhood.
• Tell us about your need and the needs of your neighbors that could use our help when serious life events occur.
• Pray for our discernment of genuine need.
• Be willing to help with your God-given talents.
• Understand that we will be learning His plan as we go.
